The auction house Cambi of Genova opens a new prestigious headquarter in Milan

The auction house Cambi of Genova believes in Milan, grafting even deeper into the Italian market, where it will inaugurate on Monday, December 2nd the new prestigious headquarter at Palazzo Serbelloni, in Corso Venezia 16. The historic neoclassical mansion will host the new venue of the Auction House, which serves the purpose of becoming a new cultural center of the city. In this new place, not just the auction will take place, but there will be a counseling office where you can request an expert to evaluate furniture, paintings, silver, jewelery, carpets and more, or to order an inventory of their possessions for insurance purposes or for hereditary divisions.
Cambi auction house was founded in Genoa in 1998, where alongside the traditional antique auctions stands out immediately for specialist auctions also addressed niche sectors such as maritime art, scientific instruments, the antique frames. Since the early years the Genoese house look outside of the city: since 2000, starting with the dispersion sale of the furnishings of Villa Toscanelli in the province of Pisa, which will be followed, in 2002, the sale of Palazzo Tornielli of Cresvolant of Molar and the Villa De Nobili Fossati Raggio in Genoa in 2003.
For the opening of Milan it will officiate two auctions: in the morning Silver, Watches and Jewellery antique and contemporary, while in the afternoon the auction entitled “Palazzo Serbelloni Fine Selection”, a selection of the best objects from the various departments of the House. This sale is characterized by the extreme variety of lots, among them, a large collection of figures from the Presepe Napoletano from the eighteenth and nineteenth century, for a total value of approximately € 150,000. It should be noted, among others, the Group of the Nativity, composed of the Virgin, St. Joseph, baby Jesus and various characters (est. € 10,000-12,000). There will also modern and contemporary art, among them a painting by Antonio Dias (1944), estimated at € 220000-250000. Among other proposals work of Peter Halley estimated € 45000-50000, Hans Hartung (€ 35,000-40,000) and two of Lucio Fontana, with estimates of € 12,000-15,000 and € 20,000-25,000. Among the ancient works, a gold late-Gothic work of painter Zanino di Pietro (1389-1448), a series of paintings of the late Mannerist and Baroque Italian, including a table of the Holy Family, by Luca Longhi of the sixteenth century (estimate € 20,000-25,000) and works dell’Orbetto, Domenico Piola and Pietro Liberi, Alessandro Magnasco, Gaspare Diziani.
On the sale dedicated to jewelry, a 10.01 ct brilliant cut diamond (estimate € 60,000-80,000) and a necklace composed of three strands of natural pearls firmly in diamonds and sapphires (estimate € 20,000-30,000).
