Not at the end of the year, collectors have finished the money. So the new London art fair Art13 skip Frieze week and relocating in March 2013

It should have inaugurate to coincide with the Frieze week in October. But Art13 moves to March, because the organizers believe that at the end of the year collectors are spent (spending money maybe), and that the beginning of the year is the best time for the market. These are the latest news concerning Art13, the new art fair in London organized by the founders of ArtHK, which is now going to increase – 1 to 3 March 2013 – the already high concentration of unmissable events in the first half of the year.
Unlike Frieze, where British and American galleries representing almost half of the exhibitors, Art13 wants to be more international with an equitable sharing by countries, for a total of one hundred galleries. Still secret the list of participants, which is being selected by a board composed of members mostly from Asia. Li Bing, founder of the museum in Beijing He Jing Yuan Art Museum; Thomas Shao, collector and publisher of the journal Asian Leap and Modern Weekly, Ramin Salsali, Iranian businessman who in 2011 opened the Salsali Private Museum in Dubai. A branch of real ArtHK, which has created a foothold in one of the major capitals of the world.
The show is directed by Stephanie Dieckvoss, former director of Frieze in its first three editions and then director of ArtHK between 2008 and 2009. The location will be the building Olympia, close to the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Serpentine Gallery, and well connected to Heathrow.
